Transmission Fluid Cooler Tubes - TorqShift, Gasoline Engine: Installation

All vehicles 

1. Install the rear transmission fluid cooler tubes into the vehicle and connect the transmission fluid cooler tubes to the transmission case.
   • Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

Late build vehicles 

2. Connect the solenoid body electrical connector.
   • Tighten to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

3. Install 4 new front stabilizer bar bracket nuts.
   • Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

4. Position the cables and install the starter solenoid terminal eyelet nuts and ground cable stud bolt.
   • Tighten the ground cable stud bolt to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
   • Tighten the starter solenoid B-terminal nut to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).
   • Tighten the starter solenoid S-terminal nut to 5 Nm (44 lb-in).

5. Install the terminal cover.

6. Install the exhaust system Y-pipe. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM article.
7. Connect the battery. For additional information, refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES article.

Early build vehicles 

8. Install the remote mount transmission fluid filter bracket and bolts.
   • Tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).
9. Install the remote mounted transmission fluid filter and install the filter-to-bracket bolt.
   • Tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).
CAUTION: A backup wrench must be used on the remote mounted transmission fluid filter housing while disconnecting and connecting the transmission fluid cooler tubes or damage to the filter housing will occur.
10. Using a backup wrench, connect the rear transmission fluid cooler tubes to the remote mounted transmission fluid filter.
    • Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
11. Connect the middle transmission fluid cooler tubes to the remote mount fluid filter housing.
12. Install the remote mount transmission fluid filter secondary latches.

All vehicles 

13. Position the starter harness bracket onto the stud and install the nut.
    • Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).

14. Position the transmission fluid cooler tube assembly bracket onto the stud and install the nut.
    • Tighten to 11 Nm (8 lb-ft).
15. Install the front transmission fluid cooler tube assembly and connect the front cooler tube assembly retainer to the frame rail.
16. Connect the transmission fluid cooler tube assemblies.
17. Install the front fluid cooler tube assembly secondary latches.
18. Connect the front transmission fluid cooler tube assembly and the auxiliary cooler hoses to the radiator in-tank cooler.
19. Fill with clean automatic transmission fluid and check for leaks.
