| Description: | The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the operation of the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor to determine if the EGT sensor responds to the increase in temperature of the exhaust gas, during vehicle operation. The test fails when after 10 minutes of driving, following an 8-hour soak, the EGT sensor does not indicate a temperature increase of 15°C (27°F). | |||
