P2289 - Injector Control Pressure Too High - Engine Off

P2289 - INJECTOR CONTROL PRESSURE TOO HIGH - ENGINE OFF

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the fuel rail pressure (FRP) when the engine is turned OFF. If the FRP does not decrease below the calibrated threshold within the calibrated time, this DTC is set.
Possible Causes: 
  • Fuel pressure control valve circuit short to ground in the harness
  • FRP circuit open in the harness
  • FRP circuit short to voltage in the harness
  • FRP sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  Use the high pressure fuel injection pump 4-pin inline connector to diagnose the fuel volume control valve and fuel pressure control valve.
Application    Key On Engine Off  Key On Engine Running  Continuous Memory
