P2269 - WATER IN FUEL CONDITION

Description:  The water in fuel (WIF) sensor is monitored by the powertrain control module (PCM). If the PCM detects water in the fuel, the DTC is set and the WIF indicator lamp is turned on.
Possible Causes:
  • Water in fuel condition
  • WIF circuit short to ground in the harness
  • WIF sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  Drain a fuel sample from the fuel conditioning module and inspect it for water or contaminants. If no water or contaminants are in the container, check for a circuit concern.
