WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Ford Pickup, 2008 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2008 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2008 Ford Cab & Chassis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
P2033 - EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH BANK 1 SENSOR 2

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor for a high voltage concern. The test fails when the sensor voltage is greater than 4.75 volts for greater than 15 seconds. Some updated vehicles may use 2.50 volts instead of 4.75 volts.
Possible Causes:
  • EGT12 signal circuit open or short to voltage
  • Damaged EGT sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  An EGT12_V PID value greater than 4.75 volts indicates a concern. Some updated vehicles may use 2.50 volts instead of 4.75 volts.
