P1408 - EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) FLOW OUT OF SELF-TEST RANGE

Description:	This test is carried out during the key on engine running (KOER) on-demand self-test only. This DTC is set when the measured exhaust back pressure is above or below the required calibrated level and the EGR valve is commanded open during the self-test.
Possible Causes:	Aftermarket intake systems or exhaust systems Restricted air flow (intake or exhaust) Restricted EGR cooler EGR valve position sensor bias Exhaust pressure (EP) sensor bias Manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor bias EGR valve
Diagnostic Aids:	Use the output state control function of the scan tool and monitor the EGRVP PID while commanding the EGR actuator on. If EGR is introduced into the engine at idle, the RPM drops or stalls out.
