P132A - Turbocharger/Supercharger Boost Control A Electrical

P132A - TURBOCHARGER/SUPERCHARGER BOOST CONTROL A ELECTRICAL

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) continuously monitors the controller area network (CAN) for messages from the turbocharger actuator to set this DTC. The turbocharger actuator carries out a learn function to determine the minimum and maximum positions when the key is turned on and the engine is running. If, the actuator is unable to complete the learn mode, the test fails and a controller area network CAN message is sent to the PCM.
Possible Causes: 
  • Actuator linkage binding
  • Obstruction of the turbocharger actuator hardware
  • Corrosion in the variable turbocharger geometry assembly
Diagnostic Aids:  When the learn function is attempted three times, a concern is indicated.
