WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Ford Pickup, 2008 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2008 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2008 Ford Cab & Chassis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
P120F - FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR EXCESSIVE VARIATION

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) adjusts the fuel rail pressure by controlling the fuel pressure control valve. This DTC sets when the actual fuel rail pressure varies too much from the desired fuel rail pressure for the calibrated fuel mass value.
Possible Causes:
  • Fuel pressure control valve or circuit intermittent concern
  • Fuel volume control valve or circuit intermittent concern
  • Fuel rail pressure (FRP) sensor or circuit intermittent concern
Diagnostic Aids:  This DTC may have been set as a result of the oscillating FRP sensor signal. Repair any FRP circuit related DTCs first.
