P0341 - Camshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1 Or Single Sensor)

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Ford Pickup, 2008 Ford F550 Super Duty, 2008 Ford F450 Super Duty, and 2008 Ford Cab & Chassis. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
P0341 - CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR A CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE (BANK 1 OR SINGLE SENSOR)

Description:  The powertrain control module (PCM) monitors the camshaft position (CMP) and crankshaft position (CKP) signals during engine cranking. The DTC is set when the CMP signal is inactive while the CKP signal indicates the engine is rotating. The PCM also monitors the CMP signal for electrical noise. When the electrical noise exceeds the calibrated threshold the DTC sets.
Possible Causes:
  • CMP circuit noise
  • CMP circuit open in the harness
  • CMP circuit short to ground in the harness
  • CMP circuit short to voltage in the harness
  • CMP+ circuit short to CMP- circuit in the harness
  • CMP sensor connection
  • CMP sensor
Diagnostic Aids:  An inactive CMP signal causes a no start condition. Monitor the CMP_F PID while cranking the engine.
