Test P: LH Turn Indicator Always On/Inoperative: ZX2

  1. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Place turn signal switch in left turn position. If turn signal exterior lights operate properly, go to next step. If turn signal exterior lights do not operate properly, repair turn signal circuit concern. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS in appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL. Retest system operation.
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove LH turn indicator bulb. Check continuity between bulb terminals. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb. Retest system operation.
  3. NOTE: Electronic flasher may also be referred to as hazard/turn light indicator flasher.
  4. Disconnect Black instrument cluster 12-pin harness connector C252. See Figure. Remove electronic flasher from behind left side of dash. Measure resistance of Green/Black wire between Black instrument cluster 12-pin harness connector C252 terminal No. 7 and electronic flasher 5-pin harness connector C295 terminal No. 5. See Figure. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace electronic flasher. Retest system operation. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Green/Black wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Retest system operation.
