Removal and Installation

  1. Remove the liftgate trim panel. For additional information, refer to INTERIOR TRIM AND ORNAMENTATION .
  2. Remove the reversing lamp assembly. For additional information, refer to EXTERIOR LIGHTING .
  3. Disconnect the liftgate actuator electrical connector.
    1. Release the wiring harness locator.
    2. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  4. Disconnect the liftgate latch actuating rod.

  5. Remove the nuts and the license plate housing.

  6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
