Cylinder Head RH: Removal

Remove the lower intake manifold. For additional information, refer to LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD .
Disconnect the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor electrical connector.

Disconnect the oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.

Remove the nut and disconnect the wiring harness ground connections.

Loosen the bolt and disconnect the powertrain control module (PCM) electrical connector.

Disconnect the evaporative emissions (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector.

Disconnect the spark plug wires and position the wires aside.

Loosen the nut and disconnect the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) tube.

Remove the three bolts and the exhaust manifold heat shield.

Loosen the exhaust manifold-to-catalytic converter bolts.

Remove the six exhaust manifold-to-cylinder head bolts.

Disconnect the engine wire harness locator.

Remove the bolt and separate the catalytic converter heat shield from the cylinder head.

Remove the eight cylinder head bolts.

Remove the cylinder head.

Remove and discard the head gasket.
