Removal and Installation

Remove the drive belt (8620). For additional information, refer to ACCESSORY DRIVE .
Disconnect the degas bottle coolant return hose (8W005).
- Block the hose to prevent coolant loss.

Loosen the fitting and disconnect the power steering pressure hose.

Disconnect the electrical connector.

Disconnect the power steering return line.

Using the special tool, remove the power steering pump pulley (3A733).

Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts and the pump.

To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: The pulley must be installed within 0.25 mm (0.010 in) flush with the power steering pump shaft.

Using the special tool, install the power steering pump pulley.
Using the special tool, install a new seal on the power steering pressure hose fitting.

Fill and leak check the system. For additional information, refer to STEERING SYSTEM-GENERAL INFORMATION .
