Front Safety Belt Retractor - Seat Integrated Restraint (SIR), SuperCab: Installation

All Vehicles 

1. Route the safety belt anchor, tongue, web guide and safety belt up through the opening at the safety belt guide.
   NOTE: Make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted prior to installation.

2. Install the safety belt retractor.
   1. Align the tab into the seat backrest bracket.
   2. Install the bolt.

3. Install the safety belt anchor and nut.
   NOTE: Prior to installation, make sure the safety belt webbing is not twisted.
   • Make sure the anti-rotation tab is properly positioned into the seat frame.

4. Install the safety belt web guides.
   1. Position the front safety belt web guide.
   2. Position the upper safety belt web guide.
   3. Install the pin-type retainers.

5. Position the bracket as noted in removal. Install the screws.
   NOTE: Do not  reverse the bracket during installation.

6. Install the four tower cap attachment screws. Install the inboard, outboard and front screw covers.
   NOTE: The inboard and outboard tower cap covers are not interchangeable. The outboard cover sits flat on the tower cap. The inboard cover sticks out from the tower cap.

7. Install the seat backrest trim cover J-clips.

8. Install the seat backrest trim panel.
   1. Position the seat backrest trim panel to the seat backrest and lift up, engaging the upper retaining clips.
   2. Push the sides of the seat backrest trim panel together, align the retaining clips to the seat backrest frame wires and release the cover, engaging the retaining clips into the seat backrest frame wire retainer.
   3. Install the seat backrest trim panel pin-type retainers.

9. Position the side trim cover onto the seat.
   • Vehicles with power seat, feed the seat control switch wire harness through the seat opening as noted in removal.
   • Align the side shield to the pivot bolt.

   Vehicles with heated seat 

10. Connect the heated seat switch electrical connector.

    All seats 

11. Position the lumbar adjuster control. Install the two screws securing the lumbar adjuster control to the seat track riser.

12. Install the seat side trim panel screws, the seat adjuster control knob and cover.
    1. Install the three seat side trim panel attachment screws (two shown).
    2. Install the seat recliner lever cover and screw.
    3. Install the lumbar control knob.

    Vehicles with power seats 

13. Connect the seat control switch electrical connector.

    All seats 

14. Restore the vehicle to operating condition.
    1. Install the seat on the side with the affected safety belt retractor. Refer to SEATING .
       WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, cautions, notes, and instructions in the supplemental restraint system deactivation/reactivation procedure.
    2. Reactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS). Refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Deactivation and Reactivation .
       WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, notes, and instructions in the seat removal and installation procedure.
    3. With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS). Refer to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
       WARNING: The restraint system diagnostic tool is for restraint system service only. Remove from the vehicle prior to road use. Failure to remove could result in injury and possible violation of vehicle safety standards.
    4. Check the active restraint system for correct operation. Refer to Safety Belt System .
