Front Seat Backrest - With Seat Integrated Restraints (SIR): Installation

Position the seat backrest at 30 degrees forward of vertical position. As seat backrest is lowered into position, route recliner cable through slot on outboard riser. Install the two front seat backrest pivot bolts.
NOTE: Discard the two front seat backrest pivot bolts and install new bolts during reassembly.

NOTE: Do not overtighten bolts during installation.

Attach the front seat backrest recliner bolt and the safety belt anchor nut and the seat backrest recliner cable.
1. Attach the recliner cable to its two attachment points.
2. Rotate seat backrest into design position and install the front seat backrest recliner bolt.
3. Place belt anchor plate over bolt tip, ensuring anti-rotation tab is in riser slot and install safety belt anchor nut.

Place the safety belt pretensioner over the pivot bolt, align the anti-rotation pin to the seat track, and install the attachment nut.
NOTE: The pivot bolt is susceptible to backing out of the joint when tightening the safety belt pretensioner attachment nut. Make sure the pivot bolt remains seated to the seat track.

Install the front seat cushion. Refer to FRONT SEAT CUSHION - With Seat Integrated Restraints (SIR) .
Reactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS). Refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Deactivation and Reactivation .
WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, read and follow all warnings, cautions, notes and instructions in the supplemental restraint system (SRS) deactivation/reactivation procedure.
With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS). Refer to AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS .
WARNING: The restraint system diagnostic tool is for restraint system service only. Remove from the vehicle prior to road use. Failure to remove could result in injury and possible violation of vehicle safety standards.
Check the active restraints for correct operation. Refer to SAFETY BELT SYSTEM .
