Thermostat - 5.4L, 6.8L Gasoline Engines: Removal

  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding .
  2. Disconnect the upper radiator hose.
  3. Remove the coolant outlet connection.
    • Remove the bolts.
    • Remove the coolant outlet connection.
  4. Remove the (A) coolant thermostat (8575) and the (B) O-ring seal.
    • Discard the (B) O-ring seal.
