Cooling Fan - Blade, Clutch and Shroud, 6.0L Diesel Engine: Removal

Remove the air cleaner assembly.
Remove the shroud to stator seal.

New shrouds

CAUTION: Use care not to damage the radiator or stator when cutting the shroud.

Cut both sides of the shroud at the location shown and remove the upper shroud.
Previously removed shrouds
Remove the four screws and the upper shroud.

All shrouds
Disconnect the cooling fan electrical connector. Unclip and position the fan and wiring aside.

NOTE: Use a hole in the fan hub to prevent the fan from turning.

Using the special tool, loosen the fan clutch.

NOTE: Fan and radiator removed for clarity.

Remove the bolts from the stator.
Remove the cooling fan and stator assembly.
Remove the lower fan shroud.
