Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal - With Retainer Plate: Removal

  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301). Refer to BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES .
  2. Remove the flexplate. Refer to Flexplate .
  3. Using the special tools, remove the crankshaft rear oil slinger.

  4. Using the special tools, remove the crankshaft rear oil seal.

  5. Remove the oil pan. Refer to OIL PAN - Automatic Transmission  or OIL PAN - Manual Transmission .
  6. Remove the crankcase bolts and the crankshaft rear oil seal retainer plate.
