Test F: Warning Indicator Flickers Or Is Intermittent

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Inspect ground connections. Verify generator is tightly mounted. If connections are okay, go to next step. If problem exists, repair as necessary.
  2. Start engine and let idle. Inspect central junction box fuse No. 45 (10-amp). Wiggling fuses, note warning indicator operation. If warning indicator does not flicker, go to next step. If warning indicator flickers, repair loose fuse connection(s) as necessary.
  3. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Using a jumper (15-amp) wire connected to positive battery terminal, backprobe generator 3-pin harness connector terminal "A" (Orange/Light Blue wire). See Figure. Start engine and let idle. Observe warning indicator. If warning indicator flickers, replace generator. If warning indicator does not flicker, repair loose connection(s) as necessary.
