Test C: System Overcharges (Greater Than 15 Volts)

  1. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect generator 3-pin harness connector. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Measure voltage between generator harness connector terminal "A" (Orange/Light Blue wire) and positive battery terminal. See Figure. If voltage is less than .5 volt, go to next step. If voltage is .5 volt or more, repair high resistance in circuit between circuit between generator and battery. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
  2. Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Inspect all ground connections. Verify generator is tightly mounted. If problem exists, repair as necessary. If connections are okay, replace generator.
