Passenger-Side Air Bag Module: Installation

  1. Position passenger-side air bag module in instrument panel opening. Install air bag module mounting bolts. Tighten passenger-side air bag module mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Install 6 NEW retaining clips on air bag module door. Position air bag module deployment door over air bag module and press on door to seat retaining clips.
  2. Remove air bag simulator from passenger-side air bag module harness connector and reconnect connectors. Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all deployable devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM  under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
