Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCS)

While Light Flash Codes (LFCs) are an indication of a general concern in the air bag system, DTCs are more specific. DTCs can be retrieved from the Restraints Control Module (RCM) with a scan tool, via the Data Link Connector (DLC).
Because an LFC may be the first indication of an air bag system malfunction, the Diagnostic Trouble Code Identification Table lists the DTCs in numerical order, related to the LFC. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION table.
