Air Induction Systems: Turbocharger: Installation

  1. Position turbocharger on turbocharger pedestal. Install NEW "O" rings on turbocharger oil drain tube and lubricate with clean engine oil. Position turbocharger and install turbocharger oil drain tube. See Figure.
  2. Install rear and front turbocharger mounting bolt. See Figure and Figure . Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Install turbocharger inlet and exhaust marmon clamps. Tighten clamps to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  4. Install oil supply tube at quick connector. Position wire retainer at turbocharger and install bolt.
  5. Prelubricate oil inlet hole of turbocharger assembly with clean engine oil and spin compressor wheel several times to coat bearing with oil.
  6. Install a NEW oil supply tube gasket and install oil supply tube. Connect turbocharger variable hydraulic control valve electrical connector. See Figure. Tighten oil supply tube bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  7. Position wiring harness and connect 2 wiring harness push pins. Install wiring harness cover and push pins. See Figure.
  8. Connect charge air cooler inlet pipe and install turbocharger intake tube. See TURBOCHARGER INTAKE TUBE .
