Removal & Installation

CAUTION:
Front and rear air cleaner cover tabs must be disengaged from the slots before pushing covers or damage to air cleaner element will occur.
- Release and remove all air filter toggle clamps. Disconnect rear cover from filter element by pushing cover to rear and pulling up to disengage tabs on the cover from the slots on the filter element. Push cover to rear under coolant reservoir and behind slot feature on filter element.
- Disconnect front cover from filter element by pushing cover forward and pulling up to disengage tabs on the cover from the slots on the filter element while pulling up on the rear of the filter element. Pull up on filter element to remove.
- Remove air cleaner front cover by disconnecting auxiliary air intake. Remove air cleaner front cover assembly.
- Remove air cleaner rear cover by disconnecting filter minder assembly, Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) electrical connector and clamp. See Fig 1. Remove rear air cleaner housing. To install, reverse removal procedure.
