Removal & Installation (With Valve Adapter Assembly)

NOTE: Fuel Storage Tanker (D90P-9275-A) and Valve Adapter Assembly (034-R0051) is required to perform this procedure. See Figure and Figure .
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fuel tank filler cap and insert chamfered end of hose into fuel tank. Attach Fuel Storage Tanker to Valve Adapter Assembly. Turn on pump to remove fuel. Remove Valve Adapter Assembly.
  2. Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE .
  3. Raise and support vehicle. Loosen fuel tank filler pipe hose clamps and disconnect hoses from fuel tank filler pipes. See Figure.
  4. Disconnect fuel pump electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect fuel filter inlet hose. See FUEL FILTER . Disconnect vapor tube fitting. See FUEL VAPOR LINE CONNECTORS  under EMISSION SYSTEMS & SUB-SYSTEMS.
  6. Position a safety support under fuel tank. Remove 2 fuel tank support strap bolts. Partially lower fuel tank while swinging fuel tank support straps away from fuel tank. Position straps aside and carefully lower fuel tank. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fuel tank support strap bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
