Removal & Installation (3.0L 4V)

CAUTION: Clean sealing surfaces with Metal Surface Cleaner (F4AZ-19A536-RA). Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) sealing surfaces are soft metal and care must be taken not to damage sealing surfaces when cleaning.

Disconnect vacuum line. Remove 2 exhaust manifold-to-EGR valve tube nuts and 2 mounting bolts. See Figure. Remove and discard gasket. To install, reverse installation procedure. Clean sealing surfaces and install a NEW EGR valve gasket. Tighten EGR mounting bolts and exhaust manifold-to-EGR valve tube nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
