Aft Tank
Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Disconnect negative battery cable. Drain the fuel from the fuel tank. See FUEL TANK DRAINING . Raise and support the vehicle. Disconnect fuel tank filler pipe hose and filler pipe vent tube. Position jack under the fuel tank. Remove four fuel tank cover strap bolts. See Fig 1. Partially lower the fuel tank. Disconnect fuel lines and electrical harness connector from fuel pump. Disconnect the hose(s) from the evaporative emission valve. Lower the fuel tank. If a new fuel tank is being installed, transfer the necessary components to the new fuel tank. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Perform leak check and monitor procedure. See AFTER REPAIR PROCEDURE under EMISSION SYSTEMS & SUB-SYSTEMS.
