Removal & Installation (6.8L)

  1. Remove the throttle body spacer. See THROTTLE BODY SPACER  under AIR INDUCTION SYSTEMS. Disconnect the right radio capacitor assembly connector. If equipped, disconnect the EGR Vacuum Regulator (EVR) electrical connector. See Fig 1. Disconnect the EVR vacuum line. Remove the bolts and the EVR bracket assembly. See Figure.
  2. Disconnect the fuel pressure regulator vacuum hose. Remove the fuel line tether clamps. Disconnect the fuel lines. See FUEL LINE CONNECTORS . Remove and discard the fuel line O-ring seals. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors.
  3. Remove the crankcase vent hose. Remove the fuel injection supply manifold bolts. See Fig 2. Lift the fuel supply manifold. Remove the injectors. Remove and discard the O-ring seals from each fuel injector. Position and remove the fuel injection supply manifold. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Lubricate the new O-ring seals with engine oil.
