Engine Will Only Idle

  1. Preliminary Checks

    Ensure APP sensor is mounted correctly. Ensure connector is properly installed. Ensure floor mats do not interfere with accelerator pedal. Ensure accelerator pedal is not damaged. Repair as necessary. If no problems are found, go to next step.

  2. Check APP Sensor

    Confirm APP sensor and wiring are intact. Perform TEST AG: ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR under SYSTEM TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 6.0L DIESEL article. If no problems are found, go to next step.

  3. Check Power Monitor

    Perform TEST AT: FICM CIRCUIT FUEL DELIVERY ERROR under SYSTEM TESTS in SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - 6.0L DIESEL article.
