Performing Self-Test

NOTE:
When performing this self-test, ensure battery voltage is maintained at 10-14 volts, and that batteries and charging system are okay. If necessary, press accelerator pedal to maintain specified voltage.
To perform self-test, turn ignition off. Ensure test equipment is properly attached and that all accessories and A/C are off. If vehicle is equipped with an auxiliary powertrain control system (RPM control), it must be turned off before performing self-test.
- Perform the necessary vehicle preparation and visual inspection.
- Using a digital multimeter connected to the battery, monitor voltage. It may be necessary to raise RPM to maintain voltage.
- Start engine.
- Parking brake set, automatic transmission in Park or manual transmission in Neutral.
- Refer to the scan tool manufacturer manual for scan tool instructions.
- Select KOER GLOW PLUG MONITORING SELF-TEST.
- Follow instructions on screen.
- Maintain system voltage until test is complete.
- Record DTCs and perform appropriate system test. See DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS .
