Removal (F250-F550)

NOTE: If checking flywheel runout, See ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION (F250-F550) .

Prepare the vehicle for flywheel removal. Remove the transmission. See TRANSMISSION . Remove the pressure plate and clutch disc. See CLUTCH ASSEMBLY .
Remove 2 flywheel bolts and install the guide studs. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Remove the remaining bolts. On vehicles with 6.0L and 7.3L, remove the reinforcing ring, flywheel and ring gear assembly. Remove the flywheel guide studs.
