Pinpoint Test A

  1. Block the wheels and apply the parking brake. Depress and slowly release the clutch pedal. Does the clutch pedal release without binding? If so, go to next step. If not, inspect clutch pedal and replace if necessary. See CLUTCH PEDAL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Depress and release the clutch pedal. Open the bleeder screw. Is there residual hydraulic pressure at the bleeder screw? If so, replace clutch master cylinder. See CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER & RESERVOIR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If not, go to next step.
  3. Place the transmission in 4th gear. Increase engine to 2000 RPM and slowly release the clutch pedal. Does the engine stall within 5 seconds? If so, clutch is not slipping. Verify customer concern. If not, inspect the clutch components for damage.
