Clutch Pedal Free Play (F150)

NOTE: On the F250-F550 models, clutch pedal is self-adjusting. When clutch system is serviced, clutch pedal must be pumped at least 5 times to set tension.

Park the vehicle on a level surface. Check for obstructions behind clutch pedal. Attach a cable tie to the lower clutch pedal. With the engine off, attach a tape measure to the cable tie. While observing the tape measure, slowly push downward on the clutch pedal until a slight resistance is felt. Is the clutch pedal free play less than 0.51" (13 mm)? If so, clutch hydraulic system is okay. If not, bleed clutch hydraulic system. See BLEEDING .
