Parking Brake Cable

  1. Ensure parking brake is fully released.
  2. Raise and support vehicle.
  3. Install Tension Gauge (T63L-8620-A), or equivalent. See Fig 1.
  4. Turn the adjustment nut until the cable tension is 34-46 lbs. (15.8 -20.8 Kg).
  5. Remove tension gauge and lower the vehicle.
  6. Lower the vehicle and check the operation of the parking brake.
  7. Raise the vehicle and verify the cable is within specification using the special tool. Ensure there is no drag on the rear brakes.
