Pinpoint Test R: The Parking, Rear Or License Lamps Are On Continuously

  1. R1 CHECK THE HEADLAMP SWITCH 
    • Disconnect: Headlamp Switch C205a.
    • Do the parking lamps continue to illuminate? 

    Yes 

    GO to R2.

    No 

    INSTALL a new headlamp switch. Refer to HEADLAMP SWITCH . TEST the system for normal operation.

  2. R2 CHECK THE VEHICLE SECURITY MODULE 
    • Disconnect: Vehicle Security Module C3203e.
    • Do the parking lamps continue to illuminate? 

    Yes 

    GO to R3.

    No 

    GO to  R4

  3. R3 CHECK THE A/C CLIMATE CONTROL ASSEMBLY FOR A SHORT TO POWER 
    • Disconnect: Climate Control Assembly C294b or Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) Module C228a.
    • Do the parking lamps continue to illuminate? 

    Yes 

    REPAIR circuit 14 (BN). TEST the system for normal operation.

    No 

    INSTALL a new climate control assembly. Refer to CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM . TEST the system for normal operation.

  4. R4 CHECK FOR VEHICLE SECURITY MODULE OPERATION 
    • Disconnect all vehicle security module connectors.
    • Check for:
      • corrosion
      • pushed-out pins
    • Connect all central vehicle security module connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    • Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present? 

    Yes 

    INSTALL a new vehicle security module. Refer to VEHICLE SECURITY MODULE . TEST the system for normal operation.

    No 

    The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. TEST the system for normal operation.
