Pinpoint Test I: The Vehicle Does Not Start - The Anti-Theft Indicator Does Not Prove Out And Flashes Rapidly
- I1 RECORD THE DTCS FROM THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM) SELF-TEST
- Key in ON position.
- Carry out the PCM self-test.
- Use the recorded PCM self-test.
- Is PCM DTC B1213, B1600, B1601, B1602, B1681, B2103, B2009, B2141, B2431 or U2510 retrieved?
Yes : REPAIR the PCM DTC. REFER to the PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) - DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTC) INDEX . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
No : GO to I2.
- I2 CARRY OUT TRANSAXLE CONTROL MODULE (TCM) DIAGNOSTICS
- Carry out diagnostics on the transaxle control module (TCM). REFER to the AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (ECVT) .
- Does a TCM concern exist?
Yes : REFER to the AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE/TRANSMISSION - ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (ECVT) . CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
No : INSTALL a new PCM. REFER to ELECTRONIC ENGINE CONTROLS - HYBRID . PROGRAM the keys. REFER to KEY PROGRAMMING USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT in this article. REFER to PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM (PATS) PARAMETER RESET in this article. TEST the system for normal operation. If the vehicle is equipped with the valet feature, program the 3rd key (if available) or instruct the customer on how to carry out this procedure. REFER to KEY PROGRAMMING USING TWO PROGRAMMED KEYS in this article.
