Removal & Installation

  1. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS  . Disconnect negative battery cable and wait for at least one minute. Disconnect seat belt tension sensor electrical connector. See Fig 1 .
  2. Remove lower seat belt anchor bolt. Move right front seat to most forward position. Remove lower B-pillar trim panel. Squeeze buttons on height adjuster button and pull cover from bottom and remove cover. Remove seat belt "D" ring mounting bolt. Remove seat belt retractor mounting bolt and right front seat belt/seat belt tension sensor assembly.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Connect negative battery cable. Perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  .
