Removal & Installation

- The front crash sensor is located on grille opening reinforcement behind grille. Before proceeding, see AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS . Disable air bag system. See DISABLING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
- Open hood. Remove 4 grille retainers and grille. Remove front crash sensor mounting bolts. Disconnect front crash sensor harness connector and remove sensor and bracket.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten sensor mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Connect negative battery cable. With air bag simulators installed at all deployable devices, perform system operation check. See SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK . Activate air bag system. See ACTIVATING SYSTEM under DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM.
