Test O: Left Hand Turn Indicator Is Inoperative
NOTE:
Perform all voltage and resistance tests using an Digital Volt-Ohm Meter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in test procedure. Use ohmmeter to isolate wiring harness shorts or opens.
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Place multifunction switch in left turn position. If left exterior turn signals operate properly, go to next step. If left exterior turn signals do not operate properly, repair turn signals as necessary. See EXTERIOR LIGHTS in appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article in ELECTRICAL.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect instrument cluster 16-pin harness connector C220a, located behind instrument cluster. SeeFigure. It may be necessary to remove instrument cluster to access connector. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Place multifunction switch in left turn position. Measure voltage between ground and instrument cluster harness connector C220a terminal No. 3 (Light Green/White wire). See Figure. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If voltage alternates between zero volts and battery voltage, replace instrument cluster printed circuit. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If voltage does not alternate between zero volts and battery voltage, repair open circuit in Light Green/White wire between multifunction switch and instrument cluster. After repair, test system for normal operation.
