Charging System

Charging system indicator light illuminates whenever generator output is insufficient to maintain battery state of charge or if generator output is too high. Under a no charge condition or with ignition ON and engine off, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) provides a ground to instrument cluster illuminating charge system indicator light. PCM, upon receipt of a charge signal, removes ground to instrument cluster turning off charge system indicator light.
