Removal & Installation: Notes

CAUTION: Electronic control modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. Proper grounding of technician and workplace is essential to prevent damage. Prior to removal of control modules, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to New Generation Star (NGS) tester. This information needs to be downloaded into new control module once installed. See MODULE CONFIGURATION under PROGRAMMING.

NOTE: When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
