Disc Brake Calipers & Pads: Installation
CAUTION:
Do not allow grease, oil, brake fluid or other contaminants to contact the pad lining material. Do not install contaminated pads.
- Install the disc brake caliper anchor plate stainless steel rail clips. Install the pads.
- If necessary, install the "V" springs.
- Compress the caliper pistons into caliper.
- Install the disc brake caliper. Install the disc brake caliper pin bolts. Install stone shield on rear forward-of-axle models.
- On all models, install the wheel and tire assembly. Lower vehicle.
- Fill the brake master cylinder reservoir with DOT 3 motor vehicle brake fluid. Install the brake master cylinder filler cap.
- Bleed brake system as necessary. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
