Test G: Low Fuel Warning Indicator Always On/Inoperative

Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove instrument cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove LOW FUEL warning indicator bulb. Check continuity between bulb terminals. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, replace bulb. Retest system operation.
Visually inspect instrument cluster printed circuit for damage, cracks or hot spots. If instrument cluster printed circuit appears okay, replace fuel gauge and instrument cluster gauge amplifier. See FUEL GAUGE, TEMPERATURE GAUGE, SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER & TACHOMETER INDICATORS/WARNING BULBS and INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAUGE AMPLIFIER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system operation. If instrument cluster printed circuit appears damaged, replace printed circuit and gauge contact clips. See PRINTED CIRCUIT under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Retest system operation.
