Valve Cover - RH: Removal

NOTE: For EXPORT ONLY vehicles (outside US/Canada) an Export Supplement is provided and should be referenced to identify differences that can impact service procedures. Vehicles can be identified by referring to the underhood Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label which states, "Not certified for US EPA or CARB Regulations".

Remove the EGR cooler. For additional information, refer to ENGINE EMISSION CONTROL .
Remove the RH fuel injectors, fuel rail supply tube and RH fuel rail. For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - 6.7L DIESEL .
Remove the RH glow plugs. For additional information, refer to GLOW PLUG SYSTEM - 6.7L DIESEL .
Remove the bolt and disconnect the 2 engine wire harness retainers.
- Pull forward to disconnect the engine wire harness retainer and then pull up to disconnect the other retainer. Position aside the engine wire harness.

Disconnect the retainer from the stud bolt and the fuel return hose from the retainer.

Disconnect the wire retainer from the rear valve cover stud bolt.

NOTE: Mark the location of the fasteners prior to removing the valve cover.

Remove the 16 bolts, 2 stud bolts and the RH valve cover.
- Remove and discard the valve cover gasket.

NOTE: Use the notch in the valve cover to aid in removing the fuel injector-to-valve cover seal.

Remove the fuel injector-to-valve cover seal out of the valve cover using a screwdriver.
