Oil Pan - Upper: Installation

  1. Install a new gasket in the upper oil pan.
  2. Apply a dime-sized bead of sealant at the 4 cover joints.

    3. NOTE: Final torque must be reached within 30 minutes of sealant application.

  3. With the help of an assistant, install the upper oil pan and 25 bolts. Tighten in 2 stages in the sequence shown.
    • Stage 1: Tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).
    • Stage 2: Tighten to 24 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  4. Position the front wire harness and install the 2 nuts.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  5. Position the side wire harness and install the nut.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  6. Position the transmission cooler tubes and install the nut.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  7. Position the engine wire harness at the oil filter header and install the nut.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  8. Connect the EOP switch and EOT sensor electrical connectors.
  9. Install a new oil filter.
  10. Install the oil cooler. For additional information, refer to Oil Cooler .
  11. Install the flexplate. For additional information refer to Flexplate .
  12. Install the oil level indicator.
