Parking Aid Sensor: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
  3. Press the retaining tabs to remove the parking aid sensor(s).
    • Remove the parking aid sensor(s) from the rear bumper.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
  5. After installing the sensor(s), use the scan tool to verify that the parking aid sensor PIDs read no object present, 255 cm (100 in or 8.4 ft) and that the parking aid sensor attenuation PIDs read between 0-16 micro-seconds. If the parking aid sensor does not respond correctly, refer to PARKING AID  in the Diagnosis and Testing portion of this service information.
