Valve Cover - RH: Removal

Vehicles can be identified by referring to the underhood Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label which states, "Not certified for US EPA or CARB Regulations".
  1. Remove the EGR cooler. For additional information, refer to EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM article.
  2. Remove the RH fuel injectors, fuel rail supply tube and RH fuel rail. For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - 6.7L DIESEL article.
  3. Remove the RH glow plugs. For additional information, refer to GLOW PLUG SYSTEM - 6.7L DIESEL article.
  4. Remove the bolt and disconnect the 2 engine wire harness retainers.
    • Pull forward to disconnect the engine wire harness retainer and then pull up to disconnect the other retainer. Position aside the engine wire harness.

  5. Disconnect the retainer from the stud bolt and the fuel return hose from the retainer.

  6. Disconnect the wire retainer from the rear valve cover stud bolt.

  7. NOTE: Mark the location of the fasteners prior to removing the valve cover.
  8. Remove the 16 bolts, 2 stud bolts and the RH valve cover.
    • Remove and discard the valve cover gasket.
