Valve Cover - LH: Removal

- Remove the crankcase vent oil separator. For additional information, refer to EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM article.
- Remove the LH fuel injectors, fuel rail supply tube and LH fuel rail. For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - 6.7L DIESEL article.
- Remove the LH glow plugs. For additional information, refer to GLOW PLUG SYSTEM - 6.7L DIESEL article.
- Disconnect the 2 wire retainers for the fuel injection harness.
- Disconnect the 2 wire retainers from the valve cover stud bolts.
- Disconnect the wire retainer from the rear valve cover stud bolt.
- Remove the 15 bolts, 3 stud bolts and the LH valve cover.
- Remove and discard the valve cover gasket.
NOTE:
Only 1 retainer shown in illustration.
NOTE:
It will be necessary to position aside the oil level indicator tube in order to remove the valve cover.
NOTE:
Mark the location of the fasteners prior to removing the valve cover.
