Oil Pan - Upper: Installation

  1. Install a new gasket in the upper oil pan.
  2. Apply a dime-sized bead of sealant at the 4 cover joints.

  3. NOTE: Final torque must be reached within 30 minutes of sealant application.
    NOTE: Do not remove the zero leak plug from the oil pan.

  4. With the help of an assistant, install the upper oil pan and 25 bolts. Tighten in 2 stages in the sequence shown in illustration.
    • Stage 1: Tighten to 2 Nm (18 lb-in).
    • Stage 2: Tighten to 24 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  5. Position the front wire harness and install the 2 nuts.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  6. Position the side wire harness and install the nut.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  7. Position the transmission cooler tubes and install the nut.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  8. Position the engine wire harness at the oil filter header and install the nut.
    • Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  9. Connect the EOP  switch and EOT  sensor electrical connectors.
  10. Install a new oil filter.
  11. Install the oil cooler. For additional information, refer to OIL COOLER  in this service information.
  12. Install the flexplate. For additional information refer to FLEXPLATE  in this service information.
  13. Install the oil level indicator.
