Exhaust Manifold - LH: Removal

  1. Remove the upper intake manifold. For additional information, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD - UPPER  in this service information.
  2. Remove the LH turbocharger inlet pipe. For additional information, refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM article.
  3. Remove the turbocharger. For additional information, refer to FUEL CHARGING AND CONTROLS - TURBOCHARGER article.
  4. Remove the 4 bolts and the LH exhaust manifold heat shield.
  5. Remove the 8 nuts, 8 spacers and the LH exhaust manifold.
    • Remove and discard the exhaust manifold gasket and nuts.
    • Replace any exhaust manifold stud(s) that is damaged or removed with the nut.
